Hi Gino,
Well, the nearest thing I could found about it is the following from the Server FAQ:
"How can I see leave of my opponent?
The webserver allows you to see your opponent's leave by clicking the 'Event' menu on the Game screen, and then selecting 'Show opponent's leave'."
So it actually seems to be the case that players are not required to tell their opponent of an upcoming leave.
Server rule 2 c) "Players are responsible for monitoring the progress and time utilisation for all of their games on the ICCF Webserver."
Gives that the resposibility to keep track of times, including holidays, lies on the player himself.
There has never been necessary for the TD to do anything but to value the reasons for the extra leave and grant or deny the extra leave. The TD has never been obliged to announce the reasons for the extra leave. In fact normaly for email and postal play its the player who himself announces the accepted extra leave, the TD does nothing unless the player is unable to tell it himself, because of a sudden hospitalisation or simular.
Best, Per
PS However I do see a point in that the server should send email notifications of the opponents leave(s). But perhaps the webserver steering group finds that there are too many email notifications going out already. |
