Hi Gino!
Thanks for the reply and screenshot. Perhaps I should have suggested the idea and refrained from saying how it should be implemented. In that case:
1. One would not like to view games where only a few moves have been made. I just checked some games and found that even the first move is not made in many, which was disappointing. Hence there should be some indication as to the number of moves already made in that game (and available for viewing).
2. If somebody is regularly monitoring a tournament, he would like to view those positions where moves have been made recently. Hence some method of knowing when the last move was made in that game whould be provided.
I find that the above points are not taken care of in he provided screenshot, only the names and ratings of players and events are provided. Perhaps one could add two columns: Since, and Last Move just like our games list.
Links from Live games could be made to a tournament wise list, or one based on average rating.
Viewers are likely to be interested in positions with sacrifices, and a possibility would be to identify material imbalances, and include the material count in the list or highlight games with imbalance persisting for more than 2 or 3 moves (to avoid those caused by simple exchanges).
I don't know, are any other servers providing live display of games (with not just one game)? |
