You may be right, but this is not obvious. The difficulty in getting qualified adjudicators is not trivial.
I would point out that extending end dates is not restricted to the CL. I do agree with you that a faster time limit would help a lot. I like Gino's suggestion of 45/10 but would be happy with 40/10. I would also like to see the CL played completely on the server with "live" display of all games with a reasonable delay (3-5 moves, after playing something like 15 moves). Perhaps this kind of live display will be possible on the server in the future. There is a question about the fairness of eliminating email sections. Some players will not (or cannot) play on the server.
Your points about games being ended to avoid the DMD are good, but this is a major issue with all ICCF competitions, in my opinion. Will ICCF ever address this issue? |
