thank u, Janet, 4 conducting this forum, and giving us a stage 2 voice our opinions! 
I am a literature enthusiast, and thus a Darren Hayes admirer, as he is a remarkable artist, especially lyrically. I find a lot of depth and complexity in his songs/poems, and I seek to find out, or rahter offer alternative interpretations, where Darren is coming from, and what he tries to convey. Maybe then we would be able to get a glimpse of his unique and complex personality.
For instance, when I closely read "Heart Attack"'s lyrics, I thought it's about a romance-triangle where a 'friend' of his (most likely a guy) betrayed him, and went off with Darren's girl ("What's that they're telling me / Sleeping with the enemy / Going down on dirty sheets"). I was offered an alternative observation in the AAD forum that it's actually Daniel who Darren is mad at for causing the SG breakup. What do you guys make of it? And please! All interpretations are eligible and valid, as long as you support your claim in the text.  |
