Animal Communication Socially and Physically

The social behaviour of an animal is controlled by the outer stimulus which activates the inner senses that are strictly related to the physiological welfare, which in fact is not so different to that of human beings, be it that animals live within their own culture, we often find they need to adapt towards a humanised society or entirely human environment thus forcing them to deny their own identity.

To understand Animal ‘language’ one needs to take into consideration a holistic approach when analysing the various behavioural patterns. Social skills are developed at an accelerated speed in the early years, although good behavioural patterns can be reinforced by different means at any time even when they grow older. It might take a little longer for the animal advancing in age.

A comprehensive knowledge of the anatomy is required when forming a diagnosis in case of physical distress caused by illness. Animals do suffer headaches and other such ailments, only the manner in which they communicate when they are in pain requires careful observation combined with a sound considerate opinion, alongside the informed ‘technical’ skills of a good veterinary, be this traditional or alternative.

Nutrition is a very important factor to an animal’s good health and sense of well being. Commercial foods might be easy, but are perhaps not always as nutritious as one might expect, in relation to human foods one might compare the quality to eating the occasional hamburger, therefore to enable our domesticated pets to thrive, we need to pay attention to their natural diet.

The educated ‘animal’ has the ability to perform a variety of behaviours on cue and invariably expresses the mood through such set patterns when it tries to communicate with the human world. Clicker reward Training is an excellent way to teach an animal a variety of skills, as is laughter and other such human stimulus that enhances the ability of our ‘pet’ in a wonderful way it helps to reinforce good behaviours.

R.I.P. BUDDHIST DOG MAHARANI ISADORA NITZSCHE-ROBSON

It is with great sadness that I am informing the readers of the demise of my dear 'child' Isadora. Conceived 2.1.94 and born 5.3.94. She was so smart and clever, with a wonderful sense of humour that made her irrisistable to all who met and knew her.

To me, she was my most faithful of companions and a dog with a mind of her own. She demanded respect and taught me the importance of the integrity and dignity of animals in ways I never thought possible.

In the autumn days of her life she developed a craving for Chinese Moon Cakes. Izzy had her ways of letting me know what she wanted or needed and communicated in a very clear manner. She would not be denied and once she managed to open the sun roof of a car with a very stiff swivel handle, rather than a button. Whilst I was at school with Celeste, there was a heavy knock on the door, which sounded distinctly human and when we opened the door, there stood my Dizzy, who had managed to climb out off the car.

In my series 'Tread Carefully - Break not the Grass World' I shall reveal some of the most extraordinary secrets and share many of the most remarkable personalities and characteristics of the privacy from within the Dog Family. In a protected environment the PetWorld's most distinguished, unusual characteristics, personalities and nature.

Meanwhile, I share with you Isadora's final request, which was to stay close to the teachings of the Buddha. Known to some as the Dharma and to me as Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. It is the one place on earth where she felt safe and was happy. How do I know? This is the key to understanding the mind of another living being.

Isadora's essence was one of dignity and integrity. A person in animal form, she moved with grace and style, she was loved by all and in her caring, compassionate, kindness was able to help humans with fear, to overcome their anxiety. Even in her final moments, as she collapsed in front of the house, as she could not quite make it to the green field, where she slipped away, 12th August as I was holding her in my arms, gazing into my eyes. Her body gave way and she could no longer hold on.

As a token of respect for her remarkable spiritual nature, my niece thought of an appropriate title, MAHARANI which stands for Queen in Indian. Buddhism was born in India and her love for Buddhism was so strong, as a family, we felt it appropriate to bestow upon her the Title of Queen in Buddhism as a Dog. With all the chanting she grew up with and was surrounded by all her life, the cremation took place on the 14th an individual cremation at CPC in Royston, the final day of the URABON ceremony which takes place every year from 15th July till 15th August. A whole month devoted to our ancestors and those deceased souls, to prepare for their next universal existence.

I named her Isadora, in honour of Isadora Duncan, as an opportunity to change the karma of those who part from the physical world, without the realisation of their circumstances. Part of the Law of Buddha, is that life is but an illusion and we are reborn in the circumstances we have created by making good causes, if we want a better life. To live in ignorance is no excuse and no exceptions or allowances are made, especially when harming others. Such is the reality of CAUSE AND EFFECT.

Rest in Peace, my beautiful child, whilst your ashes are standing on the altar, your warm, friendly and generous heart, continues to live on in mine. The Pet Family you left behind and who still miss you very much. Life has changed for us all, but we are so glad your essence lives on in the Gohonzon and we hope that Faithful will carry on with the lineage in which you played such a very important part.

May love eternally embrace you! Faithful Daimoku Dog!
