Martha Tyne born 1877 Sheffield
Hi, Can anyone have a look for Martha and her parents etc on 1881 census for me please. I have tried the family search site and she is not showing on there. Does anyone have indexes for 1881? She married Alfred Gibson in 1896. Regards and thanks, Calmar

Hi Do you have the marriage certificate and if so what is the father's name and occupation. I have found her in 1891 with her mother Emma at RG12/3834 folio 74. The mother is stating she is married and is lodging with a William DAY. The family have been indexed under DAY on this census. Angela |

Hi Angela, Thank you for 1891 info. I am sorry I don't have marriage certificate. Does the 1891 census give where her mother was born please? I think the name Tyne is Irish. I am presuming there is no father with them on 1891. Regards, Calmar

Hi. They are at 17 Corby Street in 1891 Tyne Emma boarder M 39 Tyne Ellen dau S 15 Tyne Martha dau 13 Tyne Beatrice dau 11 All born Sheffield. I can't find them in 1881... Angela |

Cauldwell Emma Sheffield 9c 645 Nell Emma Sheffield 9c 645 SCHOLES Sarah Ann Sheffield 9c 645 Tyne John Sheffield 9c 645 GUILFORD Thomas Sheffield 9c 645 dont know if this helps at all. Jean |

Hi Jean, Thank you for that info. I too had found that entry and have decided that he married Emma Cauldwell not Emma Nell. Going on the age of Emma C on 1891 census, it looks the more likely. Nell's would not be right age that she gives on the 1891 census. Regards, Calmar |

Hi Calmar There is a family transcribed as Hymn on the 1881 census both on Ancestry and Family search living at 12 Corby St. John 32 Emma 28 Eliza 7 Ellen 5 Martha 3 Ann.Elizb. 3mths all born Sheffield I just cant tell if it is Hymn on the 1881 image. Had a look on Free BDM's and cant find any Hymns born Sheffield. Sylvia |

Sylvia, You are wonderful!!  That looks like a misspelling on transcription to me. I have taken a look on LDS and there are 2 more children on it than on 1891. Unfortunately my Ancestry subscription has run out so am stuck with searching on freebie sites for now. |

Hi Calmar There are several births, all registered at Sheffield for Tynes. John, who is probably Martha's father, was registered March quarter 1849, volume 22,page 703. Eliza June 1873 9C, 445 Ellen June 1875 9C, 468 Martha June 1877 9C, 449 Annie Elizabeth March 1881 9C,523 Beatrice March 1887 9C, 481 There are several more who died in infancy but I don't know whether they are your relatives, two of these - John and George Henry are buried at City Road. Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for that info. I have since found that little Annie Elizabeth died in the same year as she was born. All the others I have found too. I don't have the two boys though. Thanks for that. I am now trying to find the marriage of his father Thomas Tyne who was Christened in Wentworth 1824. I am told his wife was Ellen but I can't find a marriage between a Thomas and an Ellen on FreeBMD. There are 2 Hannah's, Charlotte and another lady. 4 ladies listed and 5 men, so looks like she hasn't been transcribed. No marriages showing on IGI for him. Regards, Calmar
