Thomas Roffey

Re: Thomas Roffey

Thank you for your reply. But, alas all but a few suggestions I have already come across.
Samuel was married twice. 1st wife Selina Parker. m 22 July 1851. 2nd wife Louisa Walker m 1882. Samuel's father stated as Thomas.

Yes, a Harriet Alice was born 1857c and died 1858.
I have copy marriage entry from Parish Registers - Thomas Roffey of the Parish of Sheffield and Frances Mappin of this parish (Norton) by banns 16 September 1827. The entry number is 126.

Frances Mappin was baptised 21.5.1804 Cathedral St Peter Sheffield and she was buried 6 9 1828 age 24 yrs at St Paul's/ St James'Church (ref 28), Penistone Street, Sheffield.

I have also Harriet Roffey bn Sheffield and married in 1838
(don't know the partner).

Children to Thomas and Frances/Fanny (could be one/or another or both wives or other partner):-
Samuel 1831,
Edward born and buried 9 12 1832c as infant,
William 1827c buried 28 11 1832.
Robert Rophey born 1823 was buried 31 8 1825 at Penistone Road.

I have also considered the names of Jane ROLLEY died 20 7 1819 ref 663 and Elizabeth ROLLEY buried 18 10 1815 ref 185. I have looked at names:- Roffe, Roffee, Rofe, Rophey, Rolphe and Rolley. I have been in touch with the GOONS branch of Roffey.

Any light shed on this conundrum is greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

Re: Thomas Roffey

Hi Patricia

You seem to already have quite a bit, what is it specifically you are looking for? Is it the birth of Thomas 1811?

Regards, Kim
