Message:   SQL-RD does NOT connect to the SQL server. It connects to, and consumes, the web service on the SSRS server.

The problem is more likely to be as a result of problems with ASP and IIS on the SSRS server.

This could indicate a disconnect between IIS and asp.net, you could attempt to re-associate the new virtual directory with asp.net by following the steps below -open a command prompt - click start->run->type in "cmd" -browse to c:\winnt\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\ (winnt folder may be windows) -run the command "aspnet_regiis -i"
