2006 Bodybuilding Competition show dates
2006 show dates for BNBF, NPA, EFBB, NABBA. They're not all confirmed yet, but here's the ones that I've found and the relevent contact details:

I've got to be honest and say I haven't really followed any of the bodybuilding organisations or shows this year.
I've just had a look at the two natural organisations - NPA and BNBF - who've successfully completed their first qualifiers - NPA Yorkshire & BNBF Scottish. Unsurprisingly Andrew Merrifield walked away with the overall title at the NPA Yorkshire. I saw him guest pose at last years Welsh qualifier in Porthcawl and didn't believe he was natural, which is just about the biggest compliment a natural bodybuilder can get. Also, former BNBF Pro Kerry Napier was amongst the middleweight line up.

I went along to support a freind, Jeff Worgan, compete in BNBF's Southern Qualifier in Weymouth over the weekend.
Unfortunately, wanting to get back early I didn't see all the physiques on show including Jim Millar's brother Dan who went on to win the overall. However, I still enjoyed it and Jeff earned himself a well placed second. Encouragingly there wasn't alot to choose between Jeff and first place veteran competitor Patrick Duffey.

BNBF's Welsh Qualifier was held on Sunday. A lovely venue, but unfortunately few competing.
I was amongst the Middleweight line up which was just 3 strong. I was trying to improve upon the 2nd place achieved the last 2 years (I lost by a point last year to a guy who completely ballsed up his pre-judge). Unfortunately I came second again, but this time to my team mate Ian Scammell (AKA Scammelman). Truely well done mate .
Ian's got a densley muscled physique with great size and detail in his legs. His symmetry's not as good as mine - appearing slightly wide waisted with a narrow top half - but his condition was bang on, which is where I was lacking.
I felt frustrated with myself as once again I could've potentially won had my condition been right and it did feel as though I'd taken a step backwards performance wise this year. My elastic going in my trunks during pre-judge saw me sporting a bright green pair of trunks in the evening, which aren't the ideall colour to pose in but they were alot more comfortable. My confidence also took a knock when having to pose to the wrong music. Neither of which affected the result, but are a nuissance given the months of preparation.
Due to the small numbers I was unable to watch the other classes on stage and you can never quite tell what's going to happen when you're back stage. Although, having said that, I had pointed out the eventual winner David Pownell as the one to watch - he's got a very balanced and pleasing physique.

BNBF's Northern Show Report is now up on their site. Surprisingly the show was won (overall) by a novice, as was acheived last year by Brandon Greenwood.
A last minute Dream Tan order has also just reminded me that the BNBF Central Qualifier is this Sunday.
