NITRIC OXIDE SUPPLEMENTS

All of you reading this have probably noticed the influx of Nitric Oxide supplements on the market place. I'm always very sceptical about claims made by manufacturers and tend to just stick to the bodybuilding supplement basics:

Protein (various kinds);
Creatine;
Glutamine;
Udo's Oil (soon);
Multi-vit and min;
Vit C.

However, it appears to be the new big thing on the market and I've heard a few good reviews from people I know, so I thought it'd be worth looking in to the supplement.

If you click the link below Paul Cribb has written an interesting article giving you the majority of the low down. See:

http://www.ast-ss.com/articles/article.asp?AID=117

I've read a slightly more favourable article by Cory Davidson, the article can be found in May issue of Natural Bodybuilding & Fitness. I realise that the article's featured in a magazine supported by supplement advertising, but don't let that stop you reading it!

Returning to the good feedback I've heard, one of the good reviews has come from someone in the lead up to a bodybuilding comp. Although he didn't notice any gains he supplemented it, 2 wks before comp till day of comp, to appear more vascular come competition time. He was taking Niacin as well but on the occasions I saw him he was looking extremely vascular. Another regular, who's vain enough to try it whilst on holiday, also found that he looked more vascular. Perhaps it can help aesthetically in the short term but I'm tended to believe gains would be negligible. You won't know unless you try though so I'm going to try Reflex's Tri-Matrix V2 or Maximuscle's NO2 in the lead up to my next comp. I'll post again to let you know how I get on.

Has anyone else any experiences or views on NO as a supplement??

Re: NITRIC OXIDE SUPPLEMENTS

I opened a pot of Reflex's Tri-Matrix V2 yesterday. V2's a creatine, glutamine and N.O. mix. For the first serving I got all red faced and itchy - sort of a ******* heat feeling as most would've experienced if they've used Vanadyl or Niacin. Only time will tell how affective it may be (I'm certainly not expecting miracles) so I'll keep this thread updated through my course.

Re: NITRIC OXIDE SUPPLEMENTS

Trial's going OK so far. I haven't noticed any miracles, but I'm looking more vascular and training's going well. I wouldn't like to say for sure whether the N.O. has anything to do with my training going well.

I'm using Reflex Tri-Matrix V2 pre and post workout. I'm aware that it's got creatine and glutamine in there as well as NO, but I was (pre trial) supplementing these by themselves post workout, so qty of consumption remains roughly the same now.

I'll update again in a couple of weeks.

Re: NITRIC OXIDE SUPPLEMENTS

I've just been speaking to a friendly American gentleman who came in the shop. He was raving about N.O. products. He had on his person BSN's NO XPLODE, but told us about a new product that has further revolutionised N.O. products - Xyience's NO X-GC. He wasn't a salesman and is in fact taking a post as an Emergency Medicine Specialist in a local hospital. He came across as very knowledgeable about supplements.

The American gentleman's not familiar with the UK brands but seemed interested after reading Reflex's Tri Matrix V2 tub. I've been doing a bit of comparison checking since he left the shop and upon first glance Reflex's V2 appears to be equally good if not superior to NO X-GC. You never know unless you try though. Here are the ingredient breakdowns:

Re: NITRIC OXIDE SUPPLEMENTS

I finished my course a couple of weeks ago and am still none the wiser. I'm sure NO2 made me more vascular, but as I got leaner I was appearing more vascular anyway. I'm also sure the NO2 work well as a pre-workout drink. However, does it warrant spending the money? Probably not.

Verdict: Worth trying, but too expensive to use all the time.

Re: NITRIC OXIDE SUPPLEMENTS

I recently started using REflex Tri-Matrix V12 and have noticed no "side-affects" after two days my "reps" increased by about 3 per set and after a week, my partner had certainly noticed a difference for the better with respect to my overall physical appearance. Im impressed with this product. Ron
