Foreign Admission (URGENT)
AOA KEMC!!! My intention is to get into a good medical school w/in Punjab state. I'm a Canadian with both advanced and IB diplomas fresh out of high school. So tell me, what do I have to do to get in? 'Truth of KEMC' has me rethinking my plans, but I'd rather graduate med school in 5 grueling yrs rather than do 8 here in the US. Plz tell me EXACTLY what I need, where I need to get it--(the PK embassy here is very...ah..crowded to give info quickly), and everything else in between. I'm a good student, competitive (yea, the whole spiel).........and I really want to get in by the end of 2006. Plz respond ASAP. I'd really appreciate it. |

AoA. As far as you are concerned to complete your med skool in 5 rather than 8 yrs. Let me clarify you in the fact that if u r a foreigner,u will be left behind atleast once if not more so forget 5 yrs u'll be luck to be out in 6yrs. People have been left back soo many times that they have completed and gotten other degreez in less demanding fields. Anyhow, a simple solution is like i have told u, this decision is a decision which decides the future of ur life so take the time out and go visit the university first hand and attend the classes as i've told u to do so and speak to the already attending local and outside students as they are the only ones who can shed the true light on u. Unless u have some hardcore political connections or connections with the prof.'s themselvs or unless u r a child of the principal himself it is quite difficult to get thru. Anyhow if u have such connections then plz go thru with this. The principal's daughter has been gettin 90% marks in subjects as demanding as anatomy while on the other hand its nearly impossible for any other student to even recieve a passing mark. Its quite amazing the politics that go on at such a "renown" university. If nothing else seems to satisfy your decision then the only one who can guide you clearly is Allah. Make dua, pray and patiently wait. I belive you can do "Istakhara" to get an answer to a question you are not sure of and inshAllah Allah will give you the answer. Please take the time out and go to the administration block known as "patealla block" and ask Hameed or for that matter the principal himself how many court cases are there against KEMU. If they say one or two or even none...then IT IS A PURE LIE!...People have thrown numerous court cases on kemu...you should think about why people wud make a case against such a university if it is so "renown". |

heya---actually, first choice is Fatima Jinnah Med School---then its KEMC *parents*--I know 2 siblings who go to Rawalpindi--and another 3rd sib who goes to Bahawalpur--their dad's totally proud of em--but they're all pk born etc.. Btw, I emailed a couple of other PK school, including NUST-----NOOOOOO ANSWER!!!! Why post an email address if they'll nvr check em out??????? |

Sorry to disappoint you but emails dont really work in pk med skools..haha. I dont think they are that advanced to keep an updated website and such. Anyway, if emails dont work then try simply calling them. Gud Luck in all you do. |

I must also add that I honestly have no idea of the situation in other medical skools in pk but i knw that they are not as bad in treating foreigners as kemc is. AIMC students that are foreigners are passing every exam and facing not 1% of the difficulty faced by those of kemc foreigners. There really is no set system by which the education department runs its institutions. Therefore the best way to choose your skool wud be to visit them first hand. Gud Luck. |
