message from a survivor
I often drop in to read the subjuects on this site. I have been a survivor of sexual abuse in my childhood for what seems to be a life time and I will never give up. In my recovery I have found there is no awnsers there is only me !! but sometimes when I have reached out some amazing people give me a helping hand and these amazing people show me the fight is never worth giving up. After 10 years I can hold my head up high and say yes I was abused but who cares I am not going to let the past fuck up my wonderful future. I have completed my second year at college working on a diploma in counselling and I am top of the class even though I am a mature student and the only male in the class. I have found that something inside me is driving me to become a councilor and help others like me and one day this will happen. So my word to anyone out there that dosnt feel good today is never stop the fight you are all able to heal. Take care and be strong. P.S Thanks to this site it showed me this can be done Daren x |

Hi Daz Good to see your post, and to see what you have achieved too. I know that with your personal experience you will be a good counsellor and hope you find your niche, as to what area you focus upon Stay safe fella and get in touch whenever you need an ear to bend Steve |

Hi Daz Well done for your achievements in your couselling course. I think as survivors we have amazing insight, and this helps us to help others. I got a first class honours degree in dietetics, this had a large counseling component, I always got high marks in these modules, and achied the highest marks ever awarded in one module. So...it goes to say, we are ALL amazing people. We achieve against all adversity. |

Steven I have read a few of your posts now. You appear congratulatory of other peoples success. What stops you from praising your own success? What stops you from taking control of your own life? What steps could you take, to gain some of that control. I feel that you need to address some of these questions, so that you can revel in your own success, one day! |

Hey, Daz... Thank you!! I always liked the phrase, "Do not quit five minutes before the miracle happens." Thanks, Dave |
