Useful and Moving Websites
Hi. I wondered if we could start a forum thread on useful and moving websites. Sites that you either offer help or advice or ones that have a moving message or story behind them. I would start by suggesting my own website but that might be a bit cheeky Take care Noel |

Hi! Good thread this is. I'll also add my site. survivorsresource.narod.ru I try to get survivors of SA (male and female) together, but I have not contacted any male for the 3 months. It seems that in Russia people aren't ready to accept this kind of information about themselves. Let's wait a bit! Alexey |

I just wanted to add that men from other countries contacted me, but I have not seen Russian guys there. What do you think maybe the cause of it? Alexey |

Hi Alexey Have you tried sending contact emails to newspapers and radio stations, stating that your site is live and available for guys to use? As always, men are the hardest to reach out to anc get a response back from, as it raises so many macho stuff for them to overcome Keep plugging at it mate and they'll come forward in time I'll get around to emailing you later this weekend mate but in the meantime, enjoy the weekend before work starts again Steve |

Hi all Glad to find a site that supports men, research shows 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 7 men are SA. I feel this is just the tip of the iceburg. These statistics are no where near reality. I'm telling folk about this site, as and when the need presents. Keep up the good work, hope you don't mund me popping in an odd time? |

I'm going to be partisan too. I'm a trustee of this charity. Although not directly to do with CSA, very many of our callers report being abused, once they feel safe on the help line. Over 75% of callers lasy year were under 18, so I guess that Hilary and her team of volunteers, are getting something right @ NACOA. http://www.nacoa.org.uk I'd really appreciate getting feedback about the site from any visitors to it. Good idea this thread. John F |

Thanks to all who have posted so far. There must be more sites out there that you guys have seen and found helpful. Hey, there've been 75 visits to this thread alone so far, some of you who haven't yet posted must have found other resources which "hummed" for you, surely? Take care, and isn't great that the spring flowers are beginning to come up again? John F. Yeah, yeah, and I don't mind being called a maudlin old sentimentalist. |

http://www.childabusesurvior.net a lifesaver and one which helped me to pick up the phone and dial Survivors London. His 7th June blog entry also lists a big portal of other blogs. |

and whilst we're on the subject - Mike McBride is the webmaster of the site I just plugged and he has been great with his time and advice over email. Thanks Mike! http://www.everymanproject.co.uk/ http://www.breakingfreecharity.org.uk/ - for women survivors and designed in the style of http://www.aest.org.uk/ for men (meaning it looks similar, content will of course differ) http://www.supportline.org.uk/problems/childabuse_survivors.php Were the other sites I was given from my Mansized thread. |
