Hi there, Great to see the forums up and running. I help run a group for female survivors of rape/sexual abuse. Guys keep up the good work, believe me it's possible to heal from rape/csa, it isn't going to be easy, in fact it often is downright difficult, near on impossible , or so it seems at times, but keep going guys as the results are well worth it. More posts? A good friend reminded me of the story of planting a field and watching it grow, and thats how this makes me feel, watching people reach out and say Hi, to one another, and posting messages of support, asking questions, and whatever you need to say Stay safe Steve

Yes, amazing how some stories can be used for almost anything. It reminds me of the story of the Starfish and the Old Man. That is still one of my favorites, and its uses are endless. |

Hi Steve, Happy New Year. I've said it elsewhere, but will say it again. THANK YOU FOR OPENING THIS FORUM ON Survivors Swindon. It seems more intimate than the MSN thing, and easier to access for this old techie illiterate. I really do hope that it gets well visited and used. Are you posting a note @ MSN to re-direct visitors here? As for perps, let 'em come. If we can track them down, and I'm sure there are means to do so, they can be paid a friendly visit, and wished a "good day". Nice to be back in touch, I've been feeling isolated lately be'cos of the MSN dificulties. When I spend too much time with myself, I find I'm in bad company. Was this forum difficult to set up? Was/is it expensive to maintain? I'm going to try and persuade colleagues @ NACOA to set one up on the website, and need to know where to go to do the "home-work". Again, Thanks and well done John F. |

Hi John Good to see you posting away mate. This forum is paid for, but you get free ones, and if you want me to sort one out for you guys, let me know and I'll do so The cost is cheap..around £29.00 for two years, so wont break the bank, so to speak The other guys know this Forum is running, but I'm keeping both going as the other group allows more privacy to say whatever you feel like and be more personal too Have a good day mate and as said, good to see you again ps. Possibly doing the VNL weekend again this year...start planning NOW!! Steve |

Hiya, if youre looking at this steve, im really glad you are still going. I dont look in often cos to be honest i get shit scared. I feel counselling helped me through but the truth is i still dont confront it, i just put it to the back of my mind when i can. I always feel so strong and think oo im dealing now, im so much better but sometimes no idea if that is true or not. Seriously though, I wish I had your courage. I truly do. You're one of my heroes mate and always will be. (particularly cos you can say "mate" so many times in one sentence - skill! To everyone else reading this hiya. I have no idea when i will look in on thie site for the above reasons and with that, that is as honest i can be. I used my full name. Don't give a fuck. im sure shame is something I used to feel but now (and i do apologise for the language if it offends) i just dont give a fuck. I was 10 i think. Never fully established my age but it was round about 10. For some reason and god knows why, i set aside a date of october 20 1988. Dont know if it happened on that day or not. Couldnt tell you. Anyway his name was andy cook and if i seen him again who knows what would happen. Im not going into details cos if im honest i dont feel its many peoples business and i dont mean to be snappy there. (christ this sounds confrontational doesnt it - i am sorry) Ok, start again. Im david. a fuckhead got to me when i was young. If youre reading this and you are a survivor, christ i have respect for you. Stupid as it sounds I got in through the nationally accepted group. I was caught when i was young. It pisses me off no end to see absolutely no coverage given to male survivors. I am so pissed off i didnt see this morning when that was on recently. And I have to say if you are a female survivor the same applies. I dont mean disrepect... bloody hell...gimme a few minutes and a cigarette and ill start again...still gonna post though eh?...bit of attention seeking perchance? |
