Grrrrr

Morning everyone , Sorry i need to have a little rant and for those of you who know me personally its not something i do often so i apologise in advance .
Last night my boiler decided that it wasnt going to work anymore and started making an awful noise and the pilot light kept coming on and then going out again quite raipdly , and no hot water or heating in the place. With hubby being duty on the ship i rang modern housing solutions and explained my problem , so the guy said ring back in the morning and see what we can do for you. So this morning i ring again and explain again the situation and also that i only came out of hospital last week and need hot water ect and they told me its not an emergency as i can boil a kettle and someone would be out on wednesday sometime !!! So 5 days with no hot running water and if it needed a part they didnt have could be longer , and for those of you who know why i was in hospital you can imagine my distress at that thought !! . Eventually they rang the on call guy who agreed with me that someone who has only recently been let of hospital needs hot water to bath ect and they have agreed to be here sometime today . Why do we have to fight so much to get things done ??? . I wouldnt have minded arranging another plumber to come look at it and pay them privately but it makes your contract on the boiler nun invoid so your stuck with them . Grrrrr . Also when i asked them is it safe for the pilot light to keep coming on and going off al by itself so quickly as im no plumber and a little concerned about that , and my reply was humm it should be ok !! , Really installed confidence in me there !! lol .
Sorry all really needed to have a rant thankyou . Worse thing is i got so stressed out with them that my problem i was in hospital for has worsened again. Great start to my weekend

Anyhow i hope all of you have a better day today , it can only get better right

Re: Grrrrr

Pink you rant as much as you like. I sometimes wonder whether taking out insurance on things like this is worth it, because the hassel when theres a problem is just not worth the stress. I do hope they get it repaired today, its so cold out there.

Re: Grrrrr

Awww Thankyou Carol hun , its so frustrating . A day or two i could understand , but 5 days just for it to even be looked at is mad.

Re: Grrrrr

Not a problem pink we all need to get things off our chest once in a while. I do understand where you are coming from with your heating and hot water though, if you remember I was with out a few weeks ago, in fact it was the Easter weekend when we had all that snow, and we didn't get ours sorted out until the middle of the following week

Thankyou Carol and Suzie for your support this morning , love ya both xx

Re: Grrrrr

I would have thought anything to do with a gas instalation was a Emergency that should get sorted straight away ...you don't mess with gas.
Has the guy been now and is it sorted ?
Hope things settle down again soon

Re: Grrrrr

No Teresa according to them its not an emergency as we dont have children.
Yeah he has already been as i mentioned earlier and we have to wait until monday now for a part to be authorised because of the cost and then we have to wait and see if it can be got in for that day or whether we have to wait more time.

Re: Grrrrr

oh, pink, sorry to hear your troubles, i think it should be brrr not grrr as it's freezing here today, at least they came out today, curl up under a blanket or duvet and stay with your parents, that sounds like the best idea.
part will be authorised onmonday, i'm sure...lets hope it can arrive onthe same day and can be fixed....you should milk the fact of your illness!!!
(you know what men are like, usually if you tell them it's related to womens problems they are so scared they usually cave in!! )
All the best. xx

Re: Grrrrr

I know what you mean, unless you have children, elderly people etc in your house you are never a priority which is so frustrating. I do hope you get sorted soon, as it makes everything feel so miserable

We had to go out and buy heaters in the end, good for the future if your heating fails again, I'm sure it will do, but an expence you can do withoutxx

Re: Grrrrr

Pink what have you done to your foot, have I missed something. I adore footie,(pardon the pun) have been bought up with it, my little friend Kieran and myself always have a two pound bet on who will win, (he still gets his £2 even if he loses ) hes lovely, only 11 and my best friend. Aston Villa are my team, so don't know who to support tomorrow, maybe Chelsea.

Re: Grrrrr

Awww bless your heart , that sounds a lovely thing to do and im sure he really enjoys that with you too

Lol i injured my foot today after the iron fell straight on to the bone bit on the top of my foot and its now purple and blue and rather swollen , i sent Angie a picture with woe is me . Its Hubbys fault because since he has been home he has turned our spare room into a bomb site with all his bags everywhere ect and its them i tripped over causing the ironing board to topple over and the iron onto my foot He's in the dog house

Re: Grrrrr

Sorry to hear about the foot injury Pink, irons aren't the lightest of things as we know.I had an experience with mine a few months back, and now I'm having physio to sort the problem, I hope you don't end up where I am xxx

May 20th, 2008 - 8:14 PM
Re: Grrrrr

We had a guest over stay his welcome and he was really pushing the boundaries, and I happened to be ironing at the time and in a fit of anger I picked up the iron with rage, and I have suffered ever since. Anyone who irons in a rage, don't as you will regret it like I did!!!xxx

May 20th, 2008 - 8:18 PM
Re: Grrrrr

Awww Suzie sounds like you were having a really bad time babe . Did you burn yourself ? I hope your guest got the hint that they had overstayed their welcome ? x
Suzie

May 20th, 2008 - 8:45 PM
Re: Grrrrr

No I didn't burn myself, but I picked the iron up wrong which caused me a lot of pain, and now I reaping the consequences of my actions. Shall we say the guest won't be staying again, he is more then welcome to just visit, but staying over will never happen again. Must be something to do with this army training, as the guest was an army friend of James xxx

Re: Grrrrr

Someone has to get the blame, I dropped mine on my foot and still have the burn mark. Pink you are in the wars lately babe, I reckon you need lots of to make you better.

Re: Grrrrr

Bless you Suzie , i really hope physio can help make things a little better for you with it soon

Awww Thankyou Carol , i have to say its not been the easiest three weeks thats for sure lol . I think we could all do with a huge big Helping of TLC lately , sending you loads back in return babe xxx
Teresa

May 20th, 2008 - 9:25 PM
Re: Grrrrr

just noticed that you were in the wars again Pink, I must be about due a strained ankle..its my party trick and usually do it every now and then and have a purple foot
Suzie that sounds painful, I have to say at times I blow but usually stick to chucking plates....it so makes you feel better too just bought some new square plates so I have a huge stock of round destressing plate to keep me going
Suzie

May 21st, 2008 - 2:54 PM
Re: Grrrrr

I'm getting there with the physio, but like anything it is going to take its time to sort out. I usually avoid things if I'm angry, but in this case I was in the wrong place at the right time if you want to call it that

I hope everyone is free from injuries today and those who are not, are well on the mend xxx
