Essentials Magazine

Hi All I have been contacted today by Essentials Magazine, They want to do a piece of someone who has experience of being seperated for their loved one for a long period of time, I have the contact number needed for this and would love one of our users to take part:
Subject: Press request

Hi Teresa,
Firstly let me apologise for contacting you out of the blue. My name is Yvonne Illsley and I am a writer for Essentials magazine. For our September Issue we are hoping to put together a feature about women who are separated from their husbands / partners for long periods of time due for reasons outside of their control - i.e. because of their partner's jobs.
For the feature we would like to speak to someone who has a husband serving in the armed forces to talk about the reality of marriage when your husband is so far away. While doing some research I came across your Facebook page and wondered if you might know someone who fits the bill or whether or not it would be ok for me to post a request on your page (I didn;t want to do it without checking it was ok with you first).
Ideally, I need a woman aged 30 - 55 whose husband is serving abroad for a reasonable period of time - it doesn’t matter where.

I'll tell you a little bit about Essentials so you have as much information as possible. It's a glossy, monthly magazine and the ethos behind it is to take every day issues which effect real women in the UK and to hopefully write sensitive, intelligent pieces which help our readers feel they are not alone. Real life interviews are an important part of our magazine and we understand if people are kind enough to share their stories they should be treated with respect at all times. Any interview would take place over the telephone and can be arranged at a time to suit the interviewee. We would also make sure that we included any information / aims and objectives of your group along with the website / telephone numbers you would like printing at the bottom of the piece.

Any interviewee would need to be happy to be photographed but we would make sure that the piece was sensitively written and that her wishes would be taken into account throughout the process.

Do you think you might know someone who would be willing to take part? I would really appreciate any help you can give me. I can be reached on this email or on

Thank you so much for your time.
Yvonne Illsley
