BBC Documentary - Remembering all Servicemen and Women who have died in Afghanistan and Iraq

Dear All,

We hope you won’t mind us getting in touch, but I have just spoken to Teresa and she has kindly agreed to let me post this message here.

We at Minnow Films (an independent TV company) are making a documentary film for the BBC to remember every British Serviceman and woman who has died whilst serving their country in Afghanistan and Iraq. This unique film will be three hours long and will be shown on BBC2 on Remembrance Sunday this year.

With a film of such significance, we feel it is important that we make contact with all those families who have lost a loved one in Afghanistan or Iraq, to tell them more about the project, answer any questions and to hear anything that they feel we should know.

If you are a family member or friend of someone who has lost their life and feel able to get in touch, we would very much like to have a brief chat. This would of course be in confidence and there would be no pressure to be involved. If it is easier for you, you could alternatively drop us a line by email. You might want to get in touch to tell us about a particular photo or home video footage which is special to you and that captures the spirit of your loved one particularly well.

We do understand if you don't feel like getting in touch personally and it would be fine for a friend or relative to email / call on your behalf – whatever is easiest for you.

We can be contacted on 0207 749 3176 or 07505 275 842 – or if you would prefer, just drop us a text with your name on and we will call you back. You can also email us on david@minnowfilms.co.uk

There is more information about the film on the BBC press link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2007/11_november/08/fallen.shtml

We are very proud to be making a film of such importance and hope you will welcome our ambition to make a very special and lasting memorial. We look forward to hearing from you.

With best wishes,

Elodie Gornall, David Brindley & Rachel Noar

BBC Film for the fallen British Servicemen and women in Afghanistan and Iraq

Minnow Films (an independent TV company) is making a landmark documentary film for the BBC to remember every British Serviceman and woman who has died whilst serving their country in Afghanistan and Iraq. The film is planned to be three hours long and will be shown on BBC2 around Remembrance Sunday this year. Each person will be individually mentioned - be that by name, with a photo or through interviews with families, friends or colleagues.

Where possible, the production team wish to speak to a family member of all those who have lost a loved one – and also with friends and colleagues – as they try to get a sense of each individual.

If you are a family member, friend or colleague of someone who has lost their life and would like to contact the team, they would very much like to hear from you. Conversations would be in confidence and there would be no obligation to be involved in the actual film. If you do not wish to speak, it may be that you would simply like to send in photos or filmed footage which you would be happy for them to use in the film.

If you would like to contact the production team: Rachel Noar and David Brindley can be contacted by phone on 020 7741 0105 or 07505 275 842 or by email at david@minnowfilms.co.uk and rachel@minnowfilms.co.uk

Please note mino films have moved Offices and have new contact details above....
